God's Covenant
1 Then Yahweh said to Moses,
"Now you will see what I will do
to Pharaoh,
for because of a strong hand
he will send them forth,
and by a strong hand
I will drive them
out from his land."
2 Then God spoke to Moses
and said to him,
"I am Yawheh!
3 And I appeared to Abraham,
to Isaac, and to Jacob,
as El Shaddai,
but my name Yahweh
I did not make known to them."
4 "And I also established
my covenant with them,
to give them the land of Canaan,
the land of their sojourn
where they were sojourners there."
5 "And also,
I have heard the groaning
of the sons of Israel,
that the Egyptians have enslaved them,
and I have remembered my covenant.

Therefore say to the sons of Israel,
I am Yahweh!
I will bring you from under
the burden of Egypt,
and I will deliver you
from their slavery,
and I will redeem you
with an outstretched arm,
and with great judgments."
7 "And I will take you to me for my people,
and I will be your God,
and you will know that I am Yahweh
your God,
that delivers you from under the burdens
of the Egyptians."
8 "And I will bring you to the land
which I swore by my hand to give to you,
to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
And I will give it to you as an inheritance.
I am Yahweh!"
9 Then Moses spoke to the sons of Israel,
but they did not listen to Moses,
from anguish of spirit,
and from cruel slavery.
10 Then Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
11 "Go speak to Pharaoh King of Egypt,
and he will send forth the sons of Israel
from his land."
12 But Moses spoke before Yahweh,
saying,
"Behold, the sons of Israel do not listen to me,
then how will Pharaoh listen to me,
and I of uncircumcised lips?"
13 So Yahweh spoke to Moses and Aaron,
and commanded them for the sons of Israel,
and for Pharoah King of Egypt,
to bring out the sons of Israel
from the land of Egypt.
14 These are the heads
of the houses of their fathers:
The sons of Reuben the
firstborn of Israel:
Enoch and Pallu,
Hezron and Carmi,
these are the families of Reuben.
15 And the sons of Simeon:
Jemuel and Jamin,
and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar,
and Shaul son of the Canaanite woman,
these are the families of Simeon.
16 And these are the names
of the sons of Levi by their generations:
Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari.
And the years of the life of Levi
were a hundred and thirty-seven years.
17 The sons of Gershon:
Libni, and Shimi, by their families.
18 And the sons of Kohath:
Amram, and Izhar,
and Hebron, and Uzziel.
And the years of the life of Kohath
were a hundred and thirty-three years.
19 And the sons of Marari:
Mahali, and Mushi.
These are the sons of Levi
by their generations.
20 And Amram took Jochabed
his father's sister for his wife,
and she bore to him Aaron and Moses.
And the years of the life of Amram
were a hundred and thirty-seven years.
21 And the sons of Izhar:
Korah, and Nepheg, and Zichri.
22 And the sons of Uzziel:
Mishael, and Elzaphan, and Zithri.
23 And Aaron took Elisheba,
daughter of Amminadab,
sister of Nahon,
for his wife,
and she bore to him Nadab and Abihu,
Eleazar and Ithamar.
24 And the sons of Korah:
Assir, Elqanah, Abiasaph,
these are the families of the Korahites.
25 And Eleazar son of Aaron
took for himself from the daughters
of Putiel for his wife,
and she bore to him Phinehas.
These are the heads of the fathers
of the Levites by their families.
26 This is the Aaron and Moses
to whom Yahweh said,
"Bring out the sons of Israel
from the land of Egypt by their hosts."
27 They spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt
to bring out the sons of Israel from Egypt.
This Moses and Aaron.
28 So it was in the day,
Yahweh spoke to Moses
in the land of Egypt.
29 Then Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
"I am Yahweh!
Speak to Pharaoh King of Egypt
all which I speak to you."
30 But Moses said before Yahweh,
"Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips,
so how will Pharaoh listen to me?"
