Psalm 9

Priestly Intro

1 For the chief musician,
upon the death of the son,
a psalm for David.

Southern Acrostic War Song

א I will give thanks to Yahweh
ב with all my ב heart.
א I will show all your wonders.
2 א I will be glad and rejoice in you.
א I will sing praise to your name,
א Elyown.

3 ב When ב my enemies return
א backwards they will fall,
and will ב perish before you.

4 For you ש did my ש justice
and my cause,
You ש dwelled for the throne of ש justice
rightly.

5 You ג rebuked the ג heathen,
you have destroyed the ש wicked,
their ש name you have blotted out
ע forever and ע ever.

6 ה The enemy has completed
ח perpetual ח destructions,
and cities you have destroyed.
Is perished the memory of ה them.

7 ו But Yawheh will remain forever,
he has כ prepared his כ throne
for judgment.

8 And he will judge the ל world
in צ righteousness,
he will rule ל for the people
in uprightness.
ו 9 And Yahweh will be a refuge
ל for the oppressed,
a refuge ל for times of צ trouble.

10 And י will trust in כ you
those who י know כ your name.
כ For you have not ז forsaken
those who seek כ you,
י Yahweh.

11 ז Sing praises to Yahweh
you who dwell in צ Zion.
ד Declare among the people
his doings.
12 For they that ד seek ד blood,
them he ז remembers.
He will not forget
the צ cry of the afflicted.

13 ח Be gracious to me, Yahweh.
ר See my affliction.
ם From the haters ם lift me up,
ם from the gates of ם death,
14 ם so I may recount all your praises.

In the ב gates of ב Daughter Zion,
I will rejoice ב in your salvation.
15 The heathen are ב sunk down
ב in the pit they made,
ב in the ר net they have hidden
their own ר foot is נ caught.

16 Yahweh is נ known
for the פ justice he does.
In the פ work of his פ hands
the wicked is נ snared.

Higgion, ס Selah

17 The ש wicked will return to ש Sheol,
all the heathen that ש forget God.
18 For the needy will not always be ש forgotten,
the ת expectation of the ע afflicted
ת shall not perish ע forever.

19 ק Arise, י Yahweh!
Do not י let man ע prevail,
י let the heathen be ש judged
ע upon your sight.
ש Appoint them in fear, י Yahweh,
let the heathen י know that
they are ש men.
