Genesis 7

1 Then Yahweh said to Noah,
"Come, you and all your household,
into the ark.

For you I have seen righteous before me
in this generation.

2 From every clean animal
you shall take for yourself seven by seven,

husband and his wife.
And from the animals that are not clean two,
husband and his wife.

3 Also from the birds of the heavens,
seven by seven,
male and female,
to keep alive their seed
upon the face of the whole earth.
4 For in yet seven more days,

I will make it rain upon the land,
forty days and forty nights,
and blot out all who have risen up,
whom I have made,
from upon the face of the ground."
5 And Noah did according to all
which Yahweh commanded him.

6 And Noah was six-hundred years old,
then the flood was waters upon the earth.

7 So Noah went in,
and his sons and his wife,
and the wives of his sons with him,
into the ark
from before the waters of the flood.

8 From the clean animals,
and from the animals that were not clean,
and from the birds,
and all that creeps upon the ground,
9 two by two they went to Noah into the ark,
male and female,
just as God commanded Noah.
10 So it happened
for seven days.

Then the waters of the flood were upon the land.
11 In the six-hundredth year of the life of Noah,
in the second month,
on the seventeenth day of the month,
on that day,
all the fountains of the great deep were broken,
and the windows of the heavens were opened.

12 And there was rain upon the land
forty days and forty nights.

13 On that very same day,

Noah went in,
and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth,
the sons of Noah,
and the wife of Noah,
and the three wives of his sons,
with him into the ark.

14 Them, and every living thing after its own kind,
and every animal after its own kind,
and every creeper that creeps upon the earth
after its own kind,
and every bird after its own kind,
every bird of every sort.
15 And they came to Noah into the ark.
Two by two from all flesh,
which in it was the breath of life.
Then they went in,
male and female from all flesh,
they went in as God commanded him.
Then Yahweh shut him in.

17 And the flood was forty days upon the land.
And the waters multiplied and lifted the ark,
and the ark was lifted above the earth.
18 And the waters prevailed
and multiplied greatly upon the land.
And the ark went upon the face of the waters.
19 And the waters prevailed
very greatly upon the land.

And all the great mountains were covered
which are beneath all the heavens.
20 Fifteen cubits above prevailed the waters
and covered the mountains.
21 And all flesh perished,
that creeps upon the earth,
of birds, and of animals, and of living things,
and every creeper that creeps upon the earth.
And all man,
22 all who have the breath of life in their nostrils,
all that are on dry ground, died.

23 And were blotted out all the living substance,
who were upon the face of the ground,
from man, to animal, to creeper,
to bird of the heavens,
and they were blotted out from the land.
And only Noah remained,
and that were with him in the ark.
24 And the waters prevailed upon the land
a hundred and fifty days.
