1 מ Why, Yahweh,
do you מ stand afar off?
Do you hide in times of trouble?
2 ב In his pride,
the wicked persecutes the poor.
Let them be taken
ב in the plans they have imagined.
3 For the ש wicked boasts
of the desire of his ש soul.
And the צ coveteous blesses
the צ blasphemy of Yahweh.
4 The ר wicked,
like the pride of his face,
will never ר seek.
א There is no א God
in any of his plans.
5 His כ ways are כ always grevious.
Your מ justice is מ far away מ out of his sight.
He is angry at all of his enemies.
6 They say in their ב heart,
"I shall ב never be moved,
not ever,
for I will not be in ב harm."
7 His mouth is ל full of ל cursing,
and deceit, and fraud.
Under his ל tongue are ל mishchief,
and iniquity.
8 He ב sits in ב ambush of villages.
ב In secret places he murders the innocent.
His נ eyes are נ hidden on the wretched.
9 He ר lies in wait in ר secret
like a ר lion in his den.
He ר lies in wait to catch the humble.
He catches the poor
when he draws them into his ר net.
10 He י crouches, he י gets low,
he topples the י wretched
with his י strong ones.
11 א He says in his heart,
א "God has forgotten,
he has hidden his face,
he will never א see this."
12 Arise, Yahweh א God!
א Lift up your hand!
Do א not forget the afflicted!
13 Why does the ש wicked
blaspheme God?
He says in his ל heart,
"God will ל not hold me to ש account."
14 You have ת seen for ת yourself,
mischief and spite.
ת Look to ת repay by your hand.
The poor ז depend on you.
You are the ז helper of the fatherless.
15 ש Break the ז arm
of the ש wicked and evil.
ש Seek out his ש wickedness
till you find none.
16 Yahweh is מ King מ forever and ever.
The מ nations are perished
מ from his land.
17 ת The desire of the afflicted
you have ת heard, Yahweh,
you will ת prepare their heart.
18 You will ת cause their ear to hear.
ל To defend the orphan and the oppressed.
ל No more forever
ל to oppress the man in the land.
